Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and client service driven Business Development Specialist to manage and support the Retirement Plan Services (RPS) platform. This role is critical to our commitment to ongoing service and holistic financial care, ensuring our clients' have the leadership and resources towards achieving their purpose-driven goals. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in retirement plan sales, advisor support, operations, client communication, and understands how retirement plans fit within the broader scope of financial planning.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting financial advisors with identifying and engaging potential new corporate retirement plan (401(k), 403(b), Cash Balance, and NQDC) clients.
  • Serve as a point of contact for advisors regarding retirement plan related questions and service support.
  • Meeting prep support for advisors.
  • Advisor training and education support.
  • Maintain and update internal business processes and procedures.
  • Assistance in building RFPs.
  • Retirement plans opportunity entering and tracking for bulk transitions and all other opportunities.
  • Serve on BP 3(38) Committee with support on fund research using RPAG assisting with our RPS 3(38) offering.
  • Operational assistance in setting up and maintaining the firm’s pooled employer plans.
  • Build and deliver employee educational content and support advisors in delivering it.  

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of relevant experience, preferred experience in the retirement plan space working with advisors, plan trustees and retirement plan vendors.
  • Undergraduate degree required (Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Economics preferred) 
  • Strong knowledge of investment portfolio performance analysis specifically mutual fund and ETFs and annuity subaccounts. 
  • Strong knowledge of retirement plan regulations including SEC and ERISA rules.
  • Experience working with insurance carriers and familiarity with carrier platforms.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Client-first mindset with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems (Salesforce), data feeds, and performance reporting software.
  • Knowledge of fiduciary practices and experience within an RIA environment is a plus
